our kitties are pretty normal except for a few random weird quirks. like, one licks printed material. Receipts, photos, ad fliers, even my desk calendar. She doesn't eat them, or chew them, just licks them, and it has to be something with printing on it, not plain paper or plastic.

the other asshole wanders around singing when he's restless. I have no other way to describe his noise, it's high-pitched and sounds like he's singing "woo!" all the time. it's cute but at the same time obnoxious.

My damn dog. She's 15, right? She's old and a little shaky in the back legs. Take her for a walk, put her out, she's practically a puppy. She pulls ME.

Time to bring her in? All of a sudden she's 15 years old again, old and slow. Unless she WANTS to go inside, then she has noooo problem.

Little phony. <3

Well, my cat will try to climb my legs to get blueberries.

That's not even the tip of the iceberg with my weird shitlord animal though.

My sister's cat looooves cantelope. He will steal it off the table during dinner if we're not careful.

My fluffy female kitty likes to lick ears and men's beards, it's most disconcerting to wake up with a purring kitty on your pillow gently licking the shell of your ear. She likes to curl up in dirty laundry as well but especially men's dirty laundry.

Also she routinely forgets to put her tongue back in her mouth so she'll sit there with it sticking out, it's stupidly adorable.

My mom's, cat, technically. My mother is a clinical psychologist who specializes in autism, and has unofficially diagnosed with cat as autistic. The cat can't look you in the eye, doesn't really like being touched (but likes being near people anyway), is easily spooked by rugs and struggles to cross thresholds of doors or transfer from tile to carpet. She'll eat uncontrollably, so we have to strictly diet her. If we let her outside in the yard through one door, she can't go inside again through any other door, it has to be the same one she went out from. Not that she's constantly stressed all the time - she enjoys being around people, will find the nearest box (no matter how small, and she is fat) and plunk down next to you. But she's just odd, can't get her to lose weight even when we diet her because it's hard to get her to move and play, every step she takes she takes super dramatically, like she is walking through a mine field.

Salads cannot be left unguarded around two of our cats. Trouble is the worst for it, but his brother Lojack will also steal lettuce out of your bowl at the slightest opportunity. They eat it about 75% of the time, but sometimes they will be appalled to realize it is The Wrong Kind Of Lettuce (not crunchy enough, usually) and will look at you as though you have personally wronged them.

My roomie's cat has a tag on my tumblr devoted to him: "adventures of genius cat." That should give you an idea.

He REALLY likes armpits and things that come in contact with them, like backpack straps. He's greedy, lazy, and dumb as a box of rocks, and he loves all humanity.

One cat loves to pounce on toes in the middle of the night. The other will pin your arm down and lick until your skin falls off in sheets.

Guinea pigs. Rumblestrutting. Understand that this is a perfectly normal behavior for them, but it's hilarious. Basically, it's when they walk around each other, swaying their behinds and vibrating. Bonus points when it leads to humping of same-sex pairs, minus points when it leads to dried boar juice (which is exactly what you think it is and then dries to the consistency of superglue) on my boy pig's face because the other boy pig is indiscriminate as to which end he humps.

My dog is weird about walking. I'll tell him it's time to go for a walk and he'll run around the whole house at breakneck speed to avoid having the leash clipped to his collar. Once we're outside, he walks at a normal pace until he sees a patch of grass. Then he has to run to it so he can roll around in it. He likes fruit and he'll take it upon himself to pick an apple or orange from one of the trees we have in the backyard. He always brings the oranges to me so I can peel them for him. If I'm sitting on the couch reading, he'll jump up and nudge my hand until I scratch his ears. He barks at any packages I get, especially ones from Amazon for some reason.

One of my hens (the top of the pecking order) will wander over to the water dish, take a sip, and hop in, then stand there until she's finished drinking. I don't think she has leg scale mites or anything. I wish my hens were tamer, because I'd try picking her up and putting her in a larger, deeper container and see if she likes to swim. I know some chickens do, but I once panicked a chicken to death by bathing it (I'd inherited her from someone else's flock and she had mites, poor thing.)

Here is a story about a chicken sailing around the world with her human companion:

My dog won't eat fries but loves raw vegetables.

my cairn terrier. She pulls the Tazzy spin* every single day the mailman comes to the house. If she's outside, she has no problems with him but if she's inside.. Yeah, psycho weasel is one of her nicknames.

[* you know, that spinning thing the Tasmanian Devil does in the Looney Toons?]

And the male cockapoo who is a few sandwiches short of a picnic is somehow the alpha male of the quartet - I'm not sure how the hell this happened, but he is.

I only ever buy ear buds from the discount store or the cheapo rack at Target, because my cat will decide they Need Killing and attack me while I'm wearing them in order to do so.

I'm not sure if she thinks she's protecting me from the weird ear snakes or what.

one of my parents' dogs is legit afraid to walk on the wood floor and he won't do it unless he sees carpet on the other side that he can "land" on.

Except when it's time to eat, because they get fed in the wood-floored dining room (because there's a raised ledge there making it easier for them to get their food), and he completely forgets about his fear...
