Precedence for this?

Could someone let me know if there was ever a billboard with Batman getting beaten up by Bane? Or if literally any other male hero gets to look like they are in the submissive position of getting beaten up by the bad guy on a billboard?

It's not a big deal that these things happen in the movie or even if it was in a trailer amongst other things, but to create a billboard of it out of context is the issue here.

Somehow I don't think you'd ever see someone like Captain America getting choked by Thanos and have only that on a billboard. This is the issue here guys.

This.

For example - there's a Batman v Superman poster that looks as if Supes and Bats are going to punch, but there's no signs of any physical violence among the two. You don't see their fists in each others' faces.

But yeah, the poster's really in poor taste, if taken out of context without having a clue who the characters are.

I haven't seen any but I also haven't seen any others that show a female character in such a way either, so the idea of it being some big sexist trend falls flat.

Not a billboard, I don't tend to think about them, but it does remind me of this cover:

Actually thinking about it, comic covers are where you see this more than anything else

That last on in particular...

not a billboard but one of the most famous comic book covers:
