An immediate, bittersweet one that ties up all the major plot points, but leaves little ones open to interpretation.

The whole "Ten years later" kind seems too rigid. Like "This is what happened. If you don't like it, deal with it. If you want to think otherwise, you're WRONG!" I like my endings a bit more flexible.
