Play Skyrim.

Oblivion is great if and only if you're playing on a PC with mods to fix the level scaling (and possibly an appearance overhaul). It's a decent game and there's a lot about it I like, but I think Oblivion really works better if you're already familiar with Tamriel. Skyrim and Morrowind are both much more interesting world-buildy games with much better level design and better questlines. Oblivion is pretty bland in comparison.
