There's something in our neighbour's garden that smells absolutely vile so I can rarely open the windows without getting a nosefull. I think it's a plant because it comes back every year around a similar time but I can't pinpoint it and most other people don't really smell it. I have a very sensitive nose and smell-triggered migraines so that's a nasty combination.

Maybe it's also the neighhours' cats pissing everywhere, we have far too many cats in the neighbourhood.

It's not something like wild garlic is it? That stuff stinks & is out in the woods near us atm

Nah, the season for that is over already. It might be a mushroom, more precisely stinkhorn (which basically smells like a rotting carcass) - we found some sneaking under the fence. We tore out what we found, so now we'll wait if the smell gets better.
