Like, for SHIZ, dude! I was so PISSED when I found out they'd cut Tony completely out of the Lifetime series. To be fair, she said it's because she's trying to get Tony his own series, but stil. I've always liked the Smoke series better than the Blood series.

I'm jonesing for reactions. Okay, great, we finally got some Tony/Lee where Lee's not flipping out about whatserface dying. HENRY WILL BE DISPLEASED.

Someone else has heard of those books? HOLY CRAP I thought I was the only one!

Tony's never gonna get his own series. North America will never put a gay, ex-prostitute protagonist on primetime. :(

Add me to the list of someone who has heard of these books - and can I just say 'WORD' to the secret. Cuz ugh, I completely agree. WAY too much ooc Vicki-sue and wangsty Henry and ignoring Mike. There should be TONS more Smoke-fic!

I do love the Blood books, and many moons ago when I first heard that Tony was going to get his own spin-off series I was... well, a bit hesitant. I hadn't connected with Tony very much during my first few read throughs of the Blood series, and I really didn't know how he'd be developed as a character. I mean, I liked him and I liked the way that he interacted with all of the main characters - but I just didn't know what he'd do on his own.

Then I read the first Smoke book and I slapped myself for ever having doubts! OMG LOVE!! I think I love that series more than the Blood books...

Hey - have you checked out the Yuletide archives though? There are actually a few good Smoke fics there! And - OMG I had the most AMAZING Tony/Lee fic written for me last year. It was freakin' phenominal. The characterization was superb, the story was engaging and uber-creative and it had just as much genuine humor and playfulness as the books do.

Count me in; I love the Smoke series to pieces. It deserves way more fans.

And I'm with you: Tony will never get his own series. I'm so pissed off that they cut him out of Blood Ties, not to mention how problematic and potentially offensive it is to deliberately cut out any non-heterosexual relationships.

Gawd, no! They're my faves. I think Smoke and Mirrors is my favorite. I probably would have enjoyed a spin-off series of just Stephen and Cassie.

I'm still holding out hope, to tell you the truth. Yeah, they probably wouldn't do it on most networks, but this is Lifetime. Television for women and gay men. It's possible. *crosses fingers*
