Re: OP29

I think the rant was unfair towards her. a) By "showing the fanfiction," she wanted to have a comical (and CLEAN) Mohinder-attempts-Karaoke scene signed so she could joke with her friends that it was canon. b) She was not supposed to ask anything; she submitted two questions and her name was chosen, and that was the question she chose to ask of her two (and the other one was also asked later after she was called to ask again).

As for the fact that it was "brought up again," it was a passing comment on her hobbies, and completely in context. Also, I disagree that most fanfiction is sex related. Or at least, you can't just ASSUME that it is. I think that the fact that Sylinder THE SITCOM was what was mentioned, a direct quote from a Zachary Quinto interview, I think that certainly directs away from OMG PORNZ!

Overall, whatever her personal fanfiction choices, she did NOT gush to the actors about porn, and I think this rant is more than a little unfair.

This story changes everytime I hear it! Wow!

The first account of the event (from a friend of the girl in question) read:

Then [NAME WITHHELD] got selected to read a question. The question on the card was "What is your favorite episode?" but she ACTUALLY asked "What do you think about all of the vast amounts of Mohinder/Sylar fan fiction?" (she is sneaky)."

I have only just noticed that [NAME WITHHELD] describes the situaton differently in her own, later post, similar to what you explain above:

I'd submitted three, and had no idea which one the guy wanted me to ask, so I went for the most pressing one...

“Uh, hi,” I said, “This is for Sendhil – what do you think of the, well, vast amounts of Mohinder/Sylar fanfic out there?”

If the first version is incorrect, then don't blame me, but the one who wrote it. Don't accuse me of "slander", but her. I did not even use the girl's name anywhere here, I did not post links to the reports because that would give away her identity.

I was not on the convention, I only have these reports to tell me what happened, and it is not my fault if they portray you accidently in a bad light. People are going to find your posts if you link to them on places like TWoP, and you are going to get attention, and not only from your buddies, but also from strangers. Deal with it.

Different anon here.

Were you at the con? If not, have you seen the bootleg vid(s) flowting around of that question and what followed?

After Sendhil Ramamurthy answered the question, the guy who was hosting the panel is heard clarly state: "That was a different question that WHAT WAS ON THE CARD but there you go."

I emphasized that for you: the card. This pretty much proves that the person in question here either a) lied or b) is a moron who can't read a card. Neither of those speak favorably of her. What the host of the panel said also supports the account that was quoted by the anon above me (The question on the card was "What is your favorite episode?" but she ACTUALLY asked "What do you think about all of the vast amounts of Mohinder/Sylar fan fiction?"), as they both mention cards, and this account even remembers what the card said, meaning it's highly likely that both the person in question and the person who wrote the account saw the card.

(...The whole anon thing makes this so very confusing to write.)
