Buttercup was my favorite too, but she could definitely be a jerk at times. But everybody is a jerk sometimes, and my (very hazy) memory of this episode is that she apologizes and learns. (Can someone confirm this?)

She only apologized when she had literally no other choice. So yeah, still a jerk, and I still hate her.

Fair enough.

Forced apologies are always bullshit.

I remember being uncomfortable on a visceral level with that scene, but I have no idea what it was about.

The kids were bullying Elmer for eating paste, and Buttercup joined in.

The thing that bugged me about that episode was the eating of paste. It grossed me out.

Is it bad that...I was uncomfortable from both perspectives? Because I've lived through that kind of bullying (albeit not for eating paste) and that made me uncomfortable on that side. But on the other side...I get viscerally sick when I see someone eating things with certain textures like paste?

The episode that really made me mad was the one where Mitch, the red haired freckled face boy in this secret, took home the class hamster and abused it

Like, it made me genuinely furious. He did receive some comeuppance in the end, but still, I was seeing red watching it
