That's more or less the impression I got watching cast interviews with the whole Jackass crew. Although some of them do seem to have it eventually kick in (notably, the guys who will actually refuse stunts that seem like they have too much of a possibility of killing someone).

Some seemed nicer than others though, and Steve-O seemed to be one of them.
