So an angry white dude just killed a female lawmaker in the UK because she was part of the group that liked other Europeans and was not willing to let Syrian kid rot in a refugee camp for the rest of their lives, and this angry middle aged white dude shot her.

"Regressive left" bullshit aside, I kinda agree. I think it's pretty hypocritical to go "not an extremist, a single asshole" for one attack and then go "totally an extremist, no excuses" for another - this is something both sides like to do and it's always equally grating.

See the thing that people always blame the shootings on when they happen in america is

1) Gun control - Britain has excellent gun control
2) Mental health care - Britain has an excellent health system
3) Religious fundamentalism - This was a white guy
4) Toxic ideas of masculinity and aggrieved male entitlement - Sadly britain does have that in abundance.

I think it's fairly obvious what is the issue behind all these tragic deaths.
