Found a book for my nephew's birthday!

It's very nice with lovely pictures of insects and arachnids. Really has the feeling of an old tome or bestiary rather than a new "science for kids" type of material, though I'd say the actual text is geared toward 10-12 year olds.

Still, it's something he can enjoy now since the pictures are so big and beautiful. Should last him for years.

I planted a gooseberry bush.

But then when I was putting the gardening tools away I discovered I'd accidentally buried my favorite trowel under it.So that probably cancels it out.

I actually managed to drag myself to my union (they do my taxes) and get that shit done. Also managed to fix an old lady's TV and she was reaaaally happy.

I've written 500+ words of a gay romance set in Sumeria circa 4,500 BC tonight. Total word count so far is 1,187.

Got all the letters done up and in teachers' mailboxes for students whose library books have not yet been returned (between the two schools I work at there were about 45 at one school and 100 at the larger one and I have to do them up individually...hahaha). Got the fiction section at my larger school fully weeded--non fic and picture books partially done.

I can't wait until summer break starts....

Transformer voice anon from yesterday! I decided to get a little bolder and try a G1 Soundwave voice. I may not be Frank Welker but I'm damn proud of spooking my Transformers fan uncle with it.

I helped publicize an LGBT comics talk I'm doing, where half the proceeds are going to the Orlando victims.

I feel kinda crummy, but at least I'm doing something useful, I guess.

Yeah. And bleh, I mispoke, it's not directly for the Orlando victims, but local queer orgs that help folks escape violence and shit.

I hope it gets spread around. I might be poor, but at least I might be able to help raise money for something good!
