I have recently switched over to cups cause I hate having to change stuff all the time. I'm currently using the Diva Cup brand (and I was the anon posting about it last month :p)

Well, my period won't start for another couple days, but I bought my own now (I was using my girlfriend's spare cup, sterilized first, which had the stem cut off) and I am hoping with the stem it is long enough and easier to get out. Apparently I have a high cervix or whatever, who knew.

Good luck!! If the stem is pokey, you can try trimming it just a little at a time.
