Hoenstly I used to love the canon couples of romantic Square JRPGs and Squall/Rinoa was what turned me off of them. It really did seem like a perosnality transplant, the way he goes 180 degrees from "ugh, Rinoa" to "I love Rinoa she is my world!!!" between two scenes.

I'd never heard of the Sorcesses' power being used unconsciously as a justification for that before, and honestly that's very cool. It's what Edea/Ultimecia does to Seifer, albeit consciously in her case. I doubt Square would ever own up to it, even if that's what they intended, because it would upset too many people (see: the Rinoa-is-Ultimecia theory, which makes way too much sense) but as a head-canon it makes the story much more palatable.

And I agree, Rinoa's a sweet girl - she'd have been horrified if she ever found out what happened, in that case.
