Isn't that 'healthy adults' not 'born without genetic defects'?

But I still don't understand why you'd want a toddler at 50. Kids are exhausting. When you reach retirement age you can't move away and do your own thing because you still have a kid in high school.

I honestly wouldn't do it either. But I'm also tired of people "side-eyeing" women who have kids at 40 because they have a less than 5% chance of having a kid with a severe genetic defect because that chance is 1% at 30 and 0.1% at 20. Sure, on a population level that's significant, but given she still has a 95% chance of having a healthy kid - and there's amnio these days besides - it's not exactly an ill-conceived idea on her part.

There's also considerable evidence that older mothers - even factoring in health, income, and their own IQ - have more intelligent children.

And also because no one seems to say a goddamned thing about older dads until the guy is like 50+. Moms start getting shit about it in their still very healthy and fertile 30s.

Fair enough. I think anyone (male or female) who had kids past 55+ are insane, it's not sex-specific. XD

Where do you live you get to retire before 65?!

My parents both retired at 55. The job I have, I'll get full pension (and will have worked for the company for 31 years) by 55.
