...I guess that could go along with "hateful" posts, but it's not like readers are supposed to walk away with the message that men should be disliked. Rei explicitly has issues from being abandoned by her dad. And while nobody tells her that her boundaries aren't legit, other characters are shown having positive relationships with their non-terrible male friends/relatives/love interests.
