It wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last.

What's the context?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-26 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the last episode of last season, but I'm assuming the title as possibly being a reference to the fans who write Alpha/Beta/Omega fics?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-26 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
On one hand, that's not a weird phrase considering it was about the end of the world and pre-creation beings like The Darkness and God.

On the other, the writers are pretty fandom-aware, so I believe there was some LOLing in the writers' room.

Ngl, when I first saw the title my response was a giggle-fit.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-26 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
HAH. I'm torn between amusement and horror that they're even aware of ABO fics. Of all the tropes, that is like the most embarrassing one. And I'm saying that as someone who loves reading it.

How could they not be aware of it? Even if they don't go looking, the fans insist on TELLING them about it.

AAAAH no. :( NO NO NO. I'm so glad I left SPN fandom. Why would you do that?

I mean, it sounds like a biblical reference within the context of a show with angels and demons and whatnot, but hey, if the writers are also having a laugh over fans freaking out, I guess that's a... bonus?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-27 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
You--you know that "Alpha and Omega" doesn't generally refer to "A/B/O," right? It's "First and Last" or "Beginning and End."

Geez, you'd freak out in a church.

You know that words can refer to two different things, right?

Eh. The writers are pretty adamant about *not* being aware of fan fiction in anything but the most nebulous form, so as not to have copyright issues. I doubt it very much, but...whatever trips your trigger.
