This is the exact reason why I no longer even bother to search for fan fic for any Nintendo series, even on AO3 anymore. Why? Because Smash Brothers is a metastasized, Stage 4-level cancer when it comes to looking for non-crossover fan fic of anything that isn't Zelda, Pokemon, or Fire Emblem.

The only FE that doesn't have this problem is Awakening, and probably Fates. Being at all into Marth as a character, rather than the Smash uke, is a circle of fucking hell.

I feel you, Anon.

It's even worse for Metroid and F-Zero fans, because Captain Falcon is usually portrayed as a buffoon/Chad, and Samus' characterizations are even worse than her portrayal in Other M (if that's even possible). Don't even get me started on Super Mario.

Hell, the Star Fox section on AO3 is 95% crossovers. That's *really* pathetic.
