Jon Snow is pretty much an angsty shounen protagonist, yes. That is why he's a fanboy favourite.

Then they went ahead and made him a pretty boy in the show, and the girls love him too, lol.

That last Artist's work are actually quite beautiful and ACTUALLY seem to fit with the books. But those others? Ick.
