I dunno. From everything I've heard -- including testimonials from Brit friends -- this isn't as small a minority as some people would like. Every last xenophobe in the country has been emboldened. It's like how Donald Trump has revealed all the racists and misogynists in the US for what they are.

This. Trump turned over the rocks and exposed the slime and maggots. Reason number one the GOP hate him. But he's shining a light on stuff a lot of American's wish they could just pretend didn't exist.
