Did you fulfill your plans or not? Any surprises?

We went and bought a washer because ours finally died. :( But it was delivered today so, yay!

And I made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate orange center. I topped them with orange cream cheese frosting.

The icing was a bit looser than I wanted. But I didn't want to add any more powdered sugar.

Those sound amazing! They look really pretty. I find buttercream frosting to be easier to shape, but that's just me.

They were good. The buttercream would have been easier to shape if it was thicker. But I didn't want to ruin the taste.

They were pretty damn good! Especially the icing.

Ooh, chocolate and orange is my fave flavor combo!

I went to do the Crystal Maze yesterday and it was so much fun, like I wasn't sure what to expect since I knew it wasn't going to be just like the TV show, but it was damn close and our Game Master was fantastic. He really did a good job of getting us all involved and enthusiastic. We went out for food after and it was nice to sit down and chat and the food was good as well.

Today I just did a couple of chores and mostly dicked about on WoW.

I did see The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Surprise: bought a cute bathing suit for 20 euro (which, doesn't sound super cheap, but considering I need large sizes, and those bathing suits are typically in the 35-65 range, i'm happy. Now if the damn rain would stop so I can go swimming.

My "going insane in the kitchen" plans are ongoing and exciting. The paneer came out a little off texturally, but the whole palak paneer dish came together just this side of perfect (little too much tomato). Last night's rabbit pie was eventually a success (I was lazy and didn't do most of the prep work the night before like I usually do) and resulted in leftovers that I will be pulling out of the freezer when I need a little indulgence for months. Taking a break from cooking today to hopefully get some painting and writing done, and I will spend all of tomorrow making pho.

Yesterday I went to the library and picked up 20 books I'd reserved on Tolkien and Middle Earth because I'm a huge nerd. Also we went grocery shopping, and I nearly passed out. I went to the ER in the evening.

Today I basically slept all day on account of the nice painkillers I got at the ER. Now I'm watching some Judging Amy until I can take another pill at 5, then I'll probably go back to sleep.

Pretty much. Started decorating my house and I'm super excited since I've finished the color scheme and found some furniture but still debating what will fit.

I took my dog and husband to the beach. It was great!

I planned on going out and getting drunk with my friend on Friday after work, going to Little Tokyo on Saturday, and helping my mother clean out the storage shed today. All of the above have been accomplished, and now I am having a beer because my mother was making me nuts.

I didn't have plans, but I looked at the thermometer and went "oh, it's surprisingly cool! Let's go birdwatching!"

So we did. I spent most of this morning cropping, enhancing, and resizing the pictures I took yesterday, and ended up with 58 I was happy to post, including a bunch of birds in flight, including Forster's Terns, which were all over the place and putting on a show.

It was pretty cool!

I'm housesitting and have taken full advantage of being in a house rather than an apartment by playing very loud music, singing at the top of my lungs, having the TV on loudly, and dancing and stomping around at night. I've also taken advantage of the big TV and surround speakers and watched a lot of Game of Thrones in preparation for the season finale. It's been a good and loud weekend.

I at least fulfilled the consumption of sushi part. Haven't been able to draw. Haven't been able to watch Zootopia because the child wouldn't even stop whining for his precious Ninja Turtles. But sushi. Sushi I got through. Saved the best of it for last. With a little too much gari/pickled ginger for normal human beings.

On the bright side I now own a Wildclaw based on a Transformer from my favorite continuity and made a new friend over it. And I learned that I have more of a capacity for Spanish than i thought.

Yup. Went to 'Dragapalooza', part of Pride week here in my town. Saw a great show, got my picture taken with the 'Drag King', Ivan Liqerclyt. It was awesome, if incredibly humid and hot, holy fuck, why is there no air conditioning.

I read that as "Dragonpalooza" and was very confused as to why that was part of Pride.

I went to the community theater end-of-season musical. This is my second time and so far they're two for two: both times the leading man was the weakest singer in the cast. WTF?
