NAYRT Yeah I don't understand how 'this game is amazing because it's all female main characters' is cool (which is fine) but 'this game is all male main characters this is terrible HDU'.

nayrt but there's such a massive saturation of games that have only/90% male leads, but relatively few games that have all female leads. All dudes wouldn't be as frustrating if different cast combinations were more common. That, and this is Final Fantasy, a brand which we've seen capable of doing female characters well. It's just a little disappointing out of them. Out of context, I could do a bro-trip game. In context, eh, it doesn't inspire enthusiasm.

Speak for yourself. I think it's pretty women friendly based on the eye candy and shippableness alone. I can imagine some male gamers refusing to play such a bromantic bishounen game because it's too female-gazey for them.

This. I didn't care about it until I learned that the characters are all hot guys. Now I am totally on board for this because hello eye candy. I look forward to the inevitable abundance of slash fics to come.
