Yeah, but I've known a lot of guys like Snape in my life, being gang members included in that. They don't suddenly become 100% posh and classy and refined just because they like Pushkin.

idk, it's something that really rubs me the wrong way bc it seems like it's totally erasing what made Snape who he is. (And also, what made Harry who he is.) All in favor of making him more sexy or palatable to the writer. Like some rough trade asshole can't be hot, he has to be prettied up and made presentable.
