Is anyone here really good at The Sims 3? I have done some Googling and cannot find the answer to this.

I have a sim with the Surrounded By Family lifetime wish. He has two kids and is married. Earlier I had him marry his wife, and they had a kid together (he started with already one kid) and everything worked normal. I switched to another household, played for a while, switched back. Now, he and his wife won't have sex. The option simply isn't there. They will flirt, hold hands, make out, and do all the other romantic stuff, including finding each other Extremely Irresistible. They're married, faithful, not angry with each other, have had sex before...not sure what I am missing here. They are in bed, cuddling/making out and very happy, but the "WooHoo" or "Try for Baby" dialogue just isn't appearing.

Their relationship bar dropped a lot when I was not playing their house, but it's impossible to see how they feel about each other in more absolute terms because the spouse designators cover up the area where "friend"/"good friend"/etc. usually go on the relationship panel. Could this be the only thing - that they aren't as good of "friends" as before? My general understanding of game mechanics seems to indicate that friendship isn't a prerequisite for sex, and none of the guides or forum posts I've read mention this, either.

Any ideas? I really like this family and want this guy to get his lifetime wish, but the clock is ticking. :(

Have you tried using the resetsim code? I don't know if that'll help in this situation, but it can't hurt.

Do you think I'll need to do both of them? But yeah, I should try that...should have tried it before posting lol. it's like "did you turn it off and back on"

another suggestion is testingcheatsenabled on (type it exactly like that). Then you can drag the relationship bar all the way in the direction you want. That could help :D (I know I've done it to get couples I wanted paired up to advance faster - I want my nooboos, damn it)

wait so after typing that in you can just drag bars around? does it work for other bars (mood, etc.)?

Yup! It comes in so handy especially when your game decides 'oh, guess what, because you used fertility treatment LTR, you're getting triplets' - I think I'd lose my mind if I couldn't drag the mood/hygiene/social/etc bars so they didn't tank

lmao I totally just got triplets in my one family. It was nice because the dad has a family lifetime wish and they had two kids. But dang it's a lot at once! Fortunately they had a lot of money saved up so I moved them into a much bigger house right away.

The thing that actually annoyed me the most about it was that it didn't tell me there were triplets right away, and I wish I'd known there were three (all girls) before I started naming them - I might have done it differently. Oh well.

(Both parents are on fertility treatment because of Dad's lifetime wish. But no more babymaking for them now, five is enough xD;)

I think the worst for me was back to back sets of twins. Fuck the canon I was trying to use for my game (Voltron) So instead of Romelle being Allura's cousin, she's the younger sister ::facepalm::

a good money cheat is "familyFunds [last name] [x]" - x being how much you want the family to have (this is done with "testingcheatsenabled on") Comes in real handy if you need to redo an entire house because the furniture is not what you want (comes in really handy if you're obsessed with making sure you have the right decorations in a room too, heh.)

haha, I used to use the rosebud cheat in sims 1 and build people luxury houses with the works. But part of the gameplay that I enjoy in Sims 3 is earning and managing money so I haven't used any money cheats yet. Of course, I also haven't built a fandom neighborhood - something I really want to do but am a little daunted by the time I'd have to put into it to get it as detailed as I'd like. If I did that I'd be more likely to use a wider variety of cheats including possibly money cheats.
