I saw it more as a reflection of how a lot of entertainers are front and centre with causes (especially ones they identify with).

I mean, I wouldn't have been disappointed if her character had had a bigger plot point or meaning, but I didn't feel like she was really shoe-horned in either.

idk, I guess maybe it's because I don't care much about entertainers, so the whole thing with her ~pleading dramatically~ didn't impress me much.

The movie itself is a piece of entertainment through which the creators are making an appeal to the audience
