I recommend going through the Henneth Annun archive on AO3. Tons and tons of the best Tolkien fic out there, and at least 1/4 of it, if not more, is Silmarillion based: http://archiveofourown.org/collections/hasa/works

Thanks, but I've read most of those. I used to read them back when they actually were on Henneth Aunnun (and now I can't find all the stories that used to be there :(
