Depends on your fandoms. There are some fandoms I simply can't deal with on reddit. Then again, there are also fannish subreddits that are perfectly balanced and delightful. I wouldn't say it's fair to typecast Reddit as a whole any more than it is to typecast Tumblr. Maybe OP was unlucky enough to hit the shitty subreddits before finding the good ones. (Or maybe OP is just a sack of shit. I haven't hemmed and hawed enough in this comment.)
