I don't really get the hate too. Obviously she has flaws - people didn't like her when her flaws were lesser in the earlier seasons, so giving her more extreme flaws and having her commit more serious mistakes it hardly changing her. But yet fans still like other characters who are objectively worse people than she is. I think Piper's problem is basically that she's more boring than the other characters, and when she does do things that make her a more interesting character, they tend to be "negative" things that people take personally (in contrast to some of the other terrible things other characters have done, yet people still think they are fun or positive characters).

I generally think people are overreacting when they criticize her though, acting like she's the hugest bitch in prison with no sense of empathy or compassion - that's objectively not true. And she does a lot of things because she is scared - which yes, she frequently has very good reason to be.
