I'm afraid there wasn't supposed to be an answer provided. The message is that there will always be scary things you can't understand, and things you can't control (especially if you're a child, who are the target audience) but what matters is how you deal with that. If that's not your bag, fine, but the episode isn't leaving loose ends by mistake, it never intended to solve them.
