The ME is the one character I don't like. Everything she says sounds so forced and awkward. I'm hoping it's a writing problem and not an acting one, and that there will be improvement next season.

I shipped MattMae from episode one and was kind of surprised that Matt had a wife/sons when they randomly showed up in one episode.

Did you watch the crossover episode with the original Criminal Minds cast? Derek teases him about his kids in that episode.

No, it was on the original Criminal Minds show. It was last year. It was a backdoor pilot.

I'm loving this so far. But I haven't found myself shipping anything. Which is fine because I never shipped anything in the regular CM either, other than a very brief period of shipping Hotch/Emily, and even when I shipped I didn't go looking for fics.

I love CM but haven't watched this yet. Is it any good? I wasn't thrilled by that backdoor pilot they did, but maybe I was just annoyed at all the newbies taking away time from my faves. I do remember thinking the premise was ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure I can get over that if the rest is good enough.

Depends on how you feel about presenting foreign cultural practices in a bad light. So many of the episodes are middle-class American students falling prey to an unsub murdering for religion/culture/voodoo/the hokey pokey/anything that will terrify suburban parents. I'm talking like murdering white people for their organs for a dead relative because they're considered more valuable in the afterlife sort of shit. It's to foreign culture was CSI: Cyber was to tech.

I would say it hasn't found it's legs yet. There isn't as much character interaction as I'm used to on the main show, and I think the acting/writing is a little shaky. It's fine but not great, and certainly not to the level of the mothership. If your expectations aren't too high, it might worth checking out.
