A dishwasher magnet that says "clean" on one side and "dirty" on the other. Saves my family a lot of confusion.

Oooh, shit, I had no idea that was a thing. My household could use a dish status magnet.

first thing that springs to mind: I grabbed a couple of those plastic toothpaste tube squeezers, two for $1, gave one to a friend and kept the other. very useful. also got a couple of those soap bar holders that you put in the shower so your soap doesn't fall, two for $1.

A used recipe book I got on Amazon for 1 cent plus 3.99 shipping.
Worth it for a budding cook who likes trying new things on a budget.

A bottle of ice cold water, with an ice cream bar the runner up. A couple years ago I had to bring some of my mom's medical paperwork to an out of the way office that was two miles from the nearest bus stop. It was 95 degrees and climbing, there was no shade and no breeze, and the sidewalk was practically vertical because the valley the offices were at the bottom of had very steep sides. I was glumly contemplating the uphill slog back to the bus when I saw the 7-11 across the street.

I have a couple of bendy-neck LED USB lights that cost me $3. Plug them into my free charger packs I got with an antivirus pack and they make great little torches.
