it's important whether or not those things are "real" though, because it gives people with commitment issues or other relationship problems an out for never actually addressing those issues. "it's not that I have intimacy problems, I'm just [tumblr word of the day]!" it may be comforting in the short term but a decade from now you're going to have a lot of poorly-adjusted adults who realize they've been using tumblr terminology as an excuse not to seek help for what are real and significant issues with self esteem or relationships.

If it leads to the person being alone and that's not what they want, then sure, it's a problem.

But if using all these terms help people find and have relationships with other people, no matter how...unorthodox/unconventional those relationships might be, I don't see why that's a bad thing.
