I am open about it so that people don't expect otherwise, but that's my choice to, not a need.

Yeah, I think if people want to tell others they definitely should.

I've definitely said "I'm not interested in dating anyone/getting married/having kids" so they don't expect those things from me, and honestly, a lot of people have probably assumed that means I'm not interested in sex either, I just haven't specifically come out and said it. I feel like even if I were into sex, I wouldn't want to tell anyone what kinks I was into or how often I liked to do it, but I guess maybe I'm just more private (uptight?) than a lot of people.
