Re: Do you feel the need to tell anyone (especially family members) that you're asexual?

Definitely. Right now I'm not interested in a relationship so I tentatively go with aromantic, but I feel like that could change in the future, and I'd be entirely open to dating someone of the same sex if I were to date anyone. And in that case, I would definitely tell people I was in a relationship with someone of the same sex. It's just the sexual details that I feel like aren't really important to anyone outside the relationship, if that makes sense.

That too! Sitting them down and saying "I like girls, and I want to date one and fall in love and bring her to all of our family events and maybe get married someday and adopt a couple cats" is important. But announcing how often I am interested in having sex (which in my case is never, but I feel the same way no matter what the frequency is) just seems kind of...weird and pointless, I guess? At least to me.
