Which is why I thought it was weird and needlessly special-snowflakey when I heard people trying to promote new terms for a romantic partner you don't have sex with, as if boyfriend and girlfriend and partner and wife and husband and spouse and significant other were all inadequate. If I meet a couple, I don't stand there thinking deep thoughts about if, when, and how they have sex without some sort of prompting. If you asked me if I think they do have sex, unless I had reason to believe otherwise I'd probably say yes just because it's statistically most likely... and then I'd wonder why you were being nosey about their sex life. Whether or mot they have sex doesn't affect me and whether I think they do doesn't affect them. (Whether people date someone of the same gender doesn't affect me either, but it's not like I'd have to go peek in their bedroom window to notice that.)
