i agree with you here. about him not being all manlyman, though, too, i think that was a good trait that made him more easy to relate to, especially for Simon. that certain childishness was needed, and i don't think it was a weakness at all. Then, GL was really something else entirely so its impossibly to say. i didn't think anything of it personally, but when you point it out, i see how GL is kind of a parody of all those space opera's and mecha shows. its cool, anyway though.
in general: i don;t know if anyone has thought this too, but i think Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star and Kamina should hang out, because they would seriously get along.
