Someone like Jack probably would make a pretty lousy friend in real life. Enigmatic plot devices aren't that great for long-lasting relationships. I think, honestly, the source of the strife is hormonal and due to sexual confusion.

"What do you mean you're not a total sluttish whore who'll shag anything and everything twice over despite being in a committed relationship!? How dare you play a character on the internet with whom you don't share similar traits and sexual preferences/habits!"
