This is true, but the sad thing is that the original Ghostbusters is exactly the same, but apparently the new movie is TERRIBLE and old Ghostbusters is AWESOME.

I probably won't see it either because I don't like Ghostbusters, but the sheer dishonesty of the anti brigade kind of makes me want to see it out of spite.

Eh, I can kind of get behind the "it looks pretty bad effects-wise" because if a movie made today has crappier looking ghosts than a movie over 20 years older that's... just not good.
But yeah, the cringey humour was what never got me into the franchise. I always gave up halfway through the first movie.

I think the hilarious thing about this is that the movie/the people who made the movie now can't lose: If it bombs, it's because "it's all the evil misogynist's fault!" even if it's just simply a bad movie. If it doesn't bomb it's "look how we showed them! Our movie is great despite what all the sexist haters said!". Either way, the people who made such a hateful fuss about the movie somehow ensured that the creators can't lose in this situation.
