I feel like I'm one of the few fans of the show who don't ship Rizzoli/Isles. But I also don't ship this either. Not sure I've picked up any gaslighting vibes, I just find him really annoying.

Yeah, he has rubbed me the wrong way from the start. I was sure he was going to be the person behind Maura's kidnapping too. But that aside, the last ep or two with her memory issues, I did get that gaslight vibe from him.

He certainly does seem to spend a lot of time undermining her confidence.

I haven't watched in a while, but I've always found something weirdly "off" about him. Something about his eyes? Like his eyeline never matched up with where the average person's would be? I don't know if it was supposed to be a character thing (it's something I'd associate with anxiety or perhaps that he's neuroatypical) or if it's just the actor. If it's just the actor, then it's not good.
