I suppose it depends? If the pregnant woman wanted an abortion then like others have suggested a 'good guy' would step up and help pay for it. But if she's just telling the guy she's pregnant and his first response is: 'here's money for an abortion', that's horrible.

This. It can be a good guy or a douchebag move depending on the context.

Yeeep. It smacks of "If I were you I'd get rid of it." Which is gross on so many levels.

Not that I heard that once. Or anything.

Why is that a douchebag thing? If the guy harasses or pressures or tries to force a woman to get an abortion then, yeah, it's awful, but I'd much rather a guy be honest with me. Just tell me if you would prefer that I get an abortion and be honest with me if you don't want anything to do with the kid and will only make the minimum required financial payments. I'd rather that then a lie to spare my feelings when I'm making a life-altering choice.

But there's normal real life context, and then there's character/show specific context.

Depending on when the fic is set, I can see Dean's reaction being anywhere from "If you want to have the kid, I'll help when I can, but I warn you it's not gonna be much because I live in my car" to "I know I'm not gonna be around because I'm going to be in Hell by the time it's born so factor that into your decision" to "please no do not have the kid because I don't want it ending up an angel condom."

No matter what the context, I could see Dean at least offering to pay.

I got curious and searched AO3 for Supernatural fics with "abortion" as a tag, sorted by date, and the most recent one was set in Season 10 and the pairing was Dean/Anne Marie. Which would possibly be a Demon Baby situation.

I couldn't figure out what the next one was supposed to be about, between the rambly Tumblr-style tags and the non-summary, but the third is an AU where Dean is a woman so I'm guessing that's not it either.

Oh god, he is so messed-up in S10 I could see him begging any woman he knocked up to abort just out of sheer self-loathing, potential demon baby issues aside.

The real question is, how many of them were about assbabies?

Oh, Supernatural fandom.
