Uh what? All the OP said was "have you heard about this prediction." Not that it was OMG TRUE IT'S TOTALLY GONNA HAPPEN.

Also lol,"Humor"? "Hurt"? How does knowing that California won't fall into the ocean "hurt" anyone? And how does believing that California will fall into the ocean "humor" anyone? Does anyone actually *want* California to fall into the ocean?

When I was little, people were saying it'd happen in twenty years. It's over twenty years since then. But maybe they just got the date wrong?

Yeah eventually, but what is your time scope? It might not be know as California then.

It won't, but the coast should end up around where Alaska is now, since the plate on the oceanward side of the fault is (very, very slowly) moving northwest-ish.
