All that speech did was make the Dothraki think that she was going to be pillaging Westeros.

That's my point. I don't think they would have rallied behind her if she hadn't been all PILLAGE AND PLUNDER RAWWWWRRR!!!

nayrt, but if they're now united behind her, and they go in and pillage and plunder, can she really say that she didn't instigate that?

How else is she going to get the throne?

I think this is the whole point GRRM was trying to make with Dany's character. Even if you want to be a "good" ruler, you have to do some bad things.

... but they'd already rallied to her before the pillage and plunder speech. That's why they happened to be there, in the same place. They were ALREADY following her.

IDK, I've barely watched the show, but in the books the point was made repeatedly that the Dothraki wouldn't cross the ocean for anything or anyone.
