Agreed. Also people forget that skills don't build overnight. People have to go through a period of being crappy to get to a point where they're good at something. It takes a lot of work, and honestly a lot of guts to keep working at something even though people are mocking your efforts/attempts.

The people who try to make OCs are trying to improve. The people who fine tune their OCs, get beta readers and work (yes they do exist) are trying. And I find it pretty damn sad that a some of fandom tries to discourage this because they find them an inconvenience.
