Meh, I don't care. It would have been perfectly legal in my country, so I can't feel any outrage for that one.

Not to mention, many of us here, were we able and actually around at the time, probably would have done the same thing.

Sorry, that, to me, is not considered rape. Not when it was consensual and he had no clue she was underaged. AND that she has no regrets about it what so ever.

It's pretty damn inconsiderate to try and forcefully make someone believe they were raped.

Exactly. And this is why that whole thing is where, regarding teh context, it was not rape.

(Anonymous) 2016-07-04 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
So you're just against age of consent laws?

[personal profile] otakugal15 2016-07-04 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
No actually, I'm glad they are there. But I want the rest of society to ACTUALLY RECOGNIZE THEM and stop ignoring them in favor of treating teens like they are actual factual children.

Teens can be manipulated into sex, yes. But there are plenty of teens who actively decide to go out and have sex, with their own age group or older. They can and DO make their own damn decisions.

So, if teens who are under the age limit of age of consent laws have sex with much older individuals, should that be a crime

Or is that just their decision as rational human beings

so you're... against age of consent laws?

(Anonymous) 2016-07-04 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not being sarcastic here: I genuinely think otakugal doesn't actually know what age of consent laws are

You're stupid. Fuck off.

[personal profile] otakugal15 2016-07-04 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok. The age of consent is usually betwern 15 and 16 in most countries, with a few exceptions.

Yes and no. If the age of consent is lower than 15, then yes, it needs to be redone and raised to 15. Looking at you Japan.

If it is not below 15, then leave it. BUT RECOGNIZE THAT IT EXISTS AND STOP AND STOP PUNISHING PEOPLE FOR IT.

Hell, I almost ended up meeting with a 19 year old when I was 15. I KNEW what that was gonna lead to. But I decided not to. I MADE THAT DECISION. Not anyone else FOR me.

(Anonymous) 2016-07-04 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
So the point you're trying to make is just that teenagers who are over the age of consent shouldn't be judged for having sex?

But what about teenagers who are under the age of consent? And what about places where the age of consent is higher than 16?
