Re: Height

OP here. I'm a straight woman who is 5'2". A few days ago I randomly turned to a morning radio show and a caller was talking about how he was short at 5'7" and said something on the lines about how women tend to want to date taller guys. I was really thrown off that he was thinking that he was short. And I began thinking about the fact that he's taller than me so naturally most men are taller than me and I thought about whether or not I'd date someone shorter than me. All the guys I've dated were taller than me and I haven't dated in years and I wondered if it was just coincidental that all the guys I've dated were tall. And then I thought, if I met a guy shorter than me and there was potential dating interests, would I date him? And I thought, maybe no, because I am already short and I don't know if I could find it sexually attractive to me. And then I felt shitty for thinking that, because it's really just a shallow thing. Society has dictated that men should be taller than women, because they need to physically be bigger.

Sorry for the tl;dr. I was driving home and that's usually where I do my deep thinking. LOL

it's all good! I think as women who are our (very short) height it's probably never really going to come up anyway, you know?

(I don't feel like my partner needs to be "bigger" than me though I don't think it's a problem when some people want their partners to be bigger. I've dated guys who were taller but thin enough to weigh less than me - I'm not fat-looking but I could lose 30 pounds and I'm very bone dense. Never bugged me. It makes me feel like things are more even anyway.)
