Like him or not, he's an important character in the sequels, he's the only confirmed legacy character, and his fate will carry a lot of narrative impact.

Brief correction, none of the section you cited is objectively false. Kylo is an important character, is the only confirmed legacy character, and his fate is significant, narratively speaking.
