I am, in fact, a Sirius/Remus shipper, but I'm one of those wacky breeds that enjoys het, too. I see what the sekrit-poster was getting at, though; the Remus/Tonks relationship came out of NOWHERE. It seemed like it was created just to create more terrible tragedy and to give Harry a godson to echo a happier version of his own story with. Remus and Tonks's deaths were also completely arbitrary, a total sidenote thrown in at the very end.

If it had been developed any better? Sure. But as it stands, it felt like "oh look, Tonks and Lupin are both close to Harry, let's throw them together." I also have trouble believing that Lupin was just barely holding her hand at the end of book six but he'd already gotten her pregnant by the beginning of book seven - as if a super crazy careful werewolf wouldn't know how to use a condom (or whatever the wizard form of birth control may be.)

tl;dr. I don't mean any hostility, but I think the OP is right to be a little annoyed at the coupling.

Truthfully speaking, I think all the canon shippers have a right to be miffed at the way she wrote the romance in the story. ;)

I agree. I think every single romantic relationship is kind of poorly written in the books, although I like most of the canon couples, Remus/Tonks included.
