Wannabe Parody
(Anonymous) 2016-07-07 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)I liked them showing different girls, and I LOVED the message. But it just wasn't that amazing, especially as you could literally miss the written messages with a blink of an eye, which I did at first because I blinked. I dunno, I just didn't find it as empowering as everyone else seems to.

A much better parody would be something like the Bad Romance: Suffrage video. Which was taken down on youtube (because youtube is an asshole). But that won't stop Schooltube from keeping it up! http://www.schooltube.com/video/1e9258174ff647078e58/

Re: Wannabe Parody
As for the Wannabe Parody.... It seems too broad? And it felt a lot like "here's a bunch of hot ladies twerking in various 'ethnic' costumes, oh and also #wannabe!" Like, how is this video helping with any of these issues that get two seconds of screen time? Is it just raising awareness, and if so, is this an effective way to raise awareness of these issues? Especially since these issues only get a brief mention without any statistics or further info? If this campaign actually has more concrete goals than to get people to watch a cutesy video or make their own videos then what are they?
idk, it just seems very much all flash and no substance.

(Anonymous) 2016-07-07 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)I'd be happier with less skinny women, but the messages are kinda vital, so no, you're objectively wrong.
Re: Wannabe Parody
The messages are great, the video sucks.
