That's why I gave up on gaming, though my hate isn't directed to new consoles/excessive system requirements anymore, but to "free" games with "optional" micro-payments.

At least with consoles and computers you kinda know what you get, how expensive they'll be and how long you can expect them to last); but those others are deceptive as hell. Most of the time is not even possible to enjoy them without paying and without being careful is easy to expend far too much (for that kind of game) on them.

I really hate free-to-play games where after a point paying is necessary to get anywhere in the game, or progress slows to a crawl.

Games like Dragonsvale are bigger money-sucks than a video game where you have a console, buy games you like, and DLC is either optional, free, or not an issue.
