As someone who grew up poor (and is upper lower class now), no. I don't have a lot of money so I love deals even more.

I think people are misreading my post.

Rich people do bargain hunting as a hobby and are keyword: "proud" of getting the deal for the sake of getting the deal. Their focus is on what a good job they did and how skilled they are at finding a deal. Poor people are happier the deal exists and they can get the item. The focus is on the item.

I get what you're saying, but this is not at all in line with my experiences. Everyone around here loves sales and brag about them. Girls will openly be telling each other their Gucci bag is bootleg and where to find them. You sure that's not a regional thing?

I have rich friends (don't ask me why) and they don't do this. They're just as happy to spend full price if they really want something. Whereas I and most of my friends who are poor get excited when something goes on sale because then we can fucking afford it.

If people are misreading your post, it's probably because you're not stating this very well. As it happens, I still disagree. Plenty of poor people are proud of getting something on sale because it means they save money AND get something they needed. Why wouldn't they be proud of that? I certainly am/was.
