But not the people who were murdered and their families? Not the people who have to still go out there and do their jobs and keep people safe despite knowing they've got big targets painted on them because of one cop's mistake?

Was the death of that guy tragic? Yes. Was it an act of racism, fuck no. It was the stupid actions of a nervous cop operating a country where everybody is armed and everybody's terrified of each other.

Yet there's no other general patterns we can allude to? Because if you want to look at numbers, the cops aren't the only ones with problems. If you want to generalise based on numbers, then blacks are fundamentally violent.

Sure. I think it's mostly caused by systemic poverty and I don't necessarily think it's that relevant, in moral or policy terms, to the problems of police violence, but I agree that the problem exists.

Which one cop? There have been two notorious and almost certainly unjustified police shootings in the USA in the last two days, and these were recorded so we can actually say that.

It was the product of a racist (and incompetent) system and method of policing that continually puts shitty cops into positions where they have the chance to fuck up and shoot some random black dude.

That's why it's racist.
